My Passion for Flowers
For someone who is as passionate about flowers as I am, you might be surprised to learn that I didn’t start out as a florist. I am actually a left-brained analytical accounting professional who somehow found a creative outlet in gardening and floral designs.
From start to finish, I love everything about flowers. They are amazing and beautiful. I am blown away by there unique shape, form and texture of every blossom. Their brilliant colors bring beauty to the garden, to our homes and to special occasions and events. I firmly believe, for myself and others, that flowers can brighten your day and bring joy to your heart.
The joy experienced when arranging flowers for friends, family and small events encouraged me to go further. I arranged the flowers for my daughter’s wedding… and was absolutely hooked. I knew this hobby had full-fledged potential to be so much more.
From Hobby to Career
Throughout my formal training at Longwood Gardens, my passion for floral design continued to grow. I began doing more and more events, but sourcing flowers became a significant obstacle. Grocery store flowers were disappointing, online sources were extremely expensive and wholesalers don’t sell to the general public. Even my ever-expanding home garden wasn’t enough to solve my resource dilemma.
After much thought and planning, and with the encouragement of friends and family, I formalized my business and started Joyful Fields Floral Designs. Since 2017, Joyful Fields has been servicing Chester County, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and beyond!

The name of my business comes from Psalm 96. “Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the LORD. Psalm 96:11-12 NKJV.” In these verses, nature is declaring God’s goodness. To me, flowers are a gift from above, one of the extravagant ways God lavishes me with love and grace. I hope that my designs, with just a little touch from my garden tucked inside, will bring you the same joy I feel, as we celebrate life with flowers.
